About Us

A school built the way a good lesson is taught — slowly, and on purpose.

Our Story

Why Sarbahda, why now

Deeksha Convent was started in 2008 by a Physics teacher who had spent twelve years watching bright students in Patna lose interest by Class VIII — not from a lack of ability, but from being taught too fast, in rooms too large, by teachers who didn't know their names.

Sarbahda was chosen on purpose. It sits close enough to Gaya to draw families from across the district, and close enough to Bodh Gaya that the school's two founding words — truth and peace — were never just a motto on a crest. They were the actual working method: correct a child privately, praise a child publicly, and never mistake noise for learning.

Nearly two decades later, that's still the whole idea. We've added classrooms, a science block, and smart boards. We haven't added the things that made the first batch of forty students feel unseen.

Our Mission

Teach the child in front of us, not the average of the class.

Every student is assessed on where they started, not just where the class average sits — academically and in conduct.

Our Vision

A student who leaves Class X able to sit with a hard problem.

Marks matter. What we actually watch for is whether a child can stay calm and curious when something doesn't come easily.

Leadership

Who runs the school

Dr. R. K. Sharma

Chairman

Founded the school in 2008 after twelve years of teaching Physics in Patna. Still visits every classroom once a month.

Mrs. Anjali Verma

Principal

Leads the academic staff and sets the term calendar. Believes a school's discipline should be visible in its quiet, not its rules.
